• What would Happen if the US left Syria and Iraq?

The video below by Peter Zeihan talks about the history and the future of our involvement in the Middle East. Recent events show that we are not going to change the dynamic and the presence of the US may only make us the the better target.

Many of the governments that have more of an interest in the area will need to step forward if we leave and the results may not be anything the world wishes to see. If we think the Oct. 7 Hamas barbarism is abhorrent, the future will see many more if we decide that it is no longer in our interest to be the target.

The future of our involvement in this area may not even depend our next election as we evolve our Mideast Foreign Policy to a less strategic player. The recent lack of US use of force by the Biden administration to attacks on US personal and assets shows how much they do not wish to engage. If there is a change in leadership we may see that we will strengthen what we can and then redraw to off shore or distant platforms to manage hopefully in less dramatic way then when we left Afganistan.

  • The Violence Has Just Begun

Last weekend a firebombing destroyed an office building that was leased by Minnesota conservative groups. These groups speak for the minority of conservatives in a deep blue state. This firebombing is being investigated by ATF and FBI as well as local authorities.

This is just the start of the political violence that will be part of our fabric in this election year. As a warning to many it may be time to make sure that you are being as vigilant as possible for our upcoming battles in both the electronic and real world.

This article is from the conservative blog Powerline and explains what is known. If you do not follow this site they are the group that outed Dan Rathers and CBS news hit job on then canidate George W. Bush.
